Privacy Policy

Koma – Free Manga Downloader ("Koma", "we", "us") is a free browser extension, developed and operated by an independent individual developer, that saves manga chapters and page images from websites you visit. This policy covers the Koma extension and this website, komadownload.com.
The short version
- Koma does not have user accounts and does not ask for your name, email or payment details.
- Koma has no servers that receive your browsing activity, your downloads or your settings.
- Koma contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and we never sell or share personal data.
- What you save, and the settings and history Koma needs to work, stay on your device.
What the extension handles
Pages you open
When you use Koma on a page, it reads that page inside your browser to find the chapter's images, title and chapter list. This happens on your device. The page content is not sent to us.
Images you download
Koma downloads images directly from the website you are reading, or from that website's image servers, to your computer. These requests go to those websites, not to us. Koma makes them the way your browser loads the page, so they can include the cookies or sign-in you already have on that site, and the site sees them as part of your normal visit. Koma does not read, store or send your cookies or passwords anywhere.
Data stored on your device
Koma keeps the following in your browser's extension storage:
- Settings, such as language, theme, save format and where the floating button sits.
- Download queue and history: chapter titles, page addresses and the status of each task, so downloads can resume after a restart.
- A temporary image cache, so interrupted downloads don't start over.
You can clear the image cache from Koma's settings. Removing the extension deletes all of this data. Files you save go to your browser's Downloads folder, and we never see them.
Services the extension contacts
- The websites you use. Koma only connects to the site you are reading and the servers it loads images from. Each site's own privacy policy applies to those visits.
- MangaDex. When you save from MangaDex, Koma uses the MangaDex public API to look up chapter details and image server addresses. MangaDex's volunteer image network requires apps to report how each image loaded, so Koma sends a short report for each MangaDex image to
api.mangadex.network. The report contains the image address, whether it loaded, its size, the load time and whether it came from a cache. It contains no account, name or browsing history. As with any web request, MangaDex can see your IP address. - komadownload.com. Right after you install Koma from a store, it opens this website's getting-started page once, in your browser's language. Visiting it works like visiting any other page of this website (see below).
Koma does not contact any other service.
